Our Winemakers

Tim Harless

Founders, Tim and Dr. Helen Harless, of Hat Ranch Winery, have broadened their influence by creating wines for Kerry Hill Winery. Tim's career began as a pilot with a growing enthusiasm for home winemaking. Living in Texas at the time, he started planting vines in his yard and attending enology and viticulture classes. With their shared love of wine, Tim and Helen, made Idaho their winemaking homestead. Awarded 2019 Winery of the Year, Tim's love for experimentation and palette pleasing wines has fostered steady growth, numerous awards, and many loyal admirers.

Isabelle Dutartre, Winemaker

Isabelle Dutartre

Originally from France, Isabelle studied winemaking for 5 years at the University of Bourgogne. She then worked her way up for 12 years at Joseph Drouhin in Beaune Burgundy France. In 1993 she started making wine in Oregon and commuted back and forth many times per year between Oregon and France. She is currently the winemaker for De Ponte Cellars in Willamette Valley, Oregon and has been since their first vintage in 2001. Her wines have regularly received outstanding scores. Isabelle is intrigued to work with Idaho grapes with our high elevations and cool nights. Isabelle gives our Bordeaux varietals her personal spin with our reserve line and has created a special Pinot Noir as her first release with Kerry Hill.
